Offering customers access to a doctor 24/7 can provide several commercial advantages for you as a travel insurer:
Enhanced Value Proposition:
By providing access to medical assistance anytime, anywhere, the insurer enhances the value of their travel insurance policies. Customers are more likely to choose policies that offer comprehensive support, including access to healthcare professionals.
Competitive Advantage:
In a competitive market, offering unique services like 24/7 access to doctors sets the insurer apart from competitors. It can attract more customers and retain existing ones who prioritise access to medical assistance while travelling.
Reduced Risk and Claims Costs:
Prompt medical assistance can prevent minor health issues from escalating into major ones, reducing the likelihood of costly claims. Early intervention through telemedicine can mitigate health risks for travellers and minimize the financial impact on the insurer.
Improved Customer Experience:
Access to round-the-clock medical support enhances the overall customer experience. Travellers feel more secure knowing they have immediate access to healthcare professionals in case of emergencies or medical concerns while abroad, fostering loyalty to the insurer.
Cross-Selling Opportunities:
Providing access to doctors 24/7 creates opportunities for cross-selling additional insurance products or services. For example, insurers can promote other health-related products or post-travel services to customers who have utilised the telemedicine service.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Through telemedicine interactions, insurers can gather valuable data about their customers' health concerns and travel patterns. This data can inform product development, pricing strategies, and risk assessment, enabling more tailored insurance offerings in the future.
Why we help your travel insurance customers
Experiencing the need for medical attention while travelling abroad can be a stressful experience.
It’s likely that your customers do not speak the language of the country they are visiting and would be unsure of the local medical services available to them or where to find them.
They would probably also require an English-speaking doctor in order to understand the advice they will be given.
Travel Doctor 24/7 provides peace of mind that in the event of needing routine medical advice, they can simply pick up the phone from wherever they are in the World
Why we help our Travel Insurance Affinity partners
A trip to a doctor or clinic overseas can easily cost £100-£500 per visit and travelling abroad can cause concern when your customers need to find an English speaking doctor for themselves or their children for a non-emergency or routine medical enquiry.
Those routine enquiries can quickly escalate into more complex medical need if not addressed properly and quickly, leading to significantly stress for your customer and potentially significantly higher travel insurance claim values.
Customers having access to speak to a UK Doctor 24/7, Can lead to savings for travel insurers via reduced doctor and out-patient claims under the primary travel insurance policy
Competitive Differentiation:
Offering comprehensive healthcare support sets your insurance policies apart from competitors, attracting more customers and enhancing brand reputation.
Customer Satisfaction:
Providing access to trusted medical professionals enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty, leading to increased retention rates and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
Cost Savings:
Early medical intervention can reduce the cost of claims by addressing health concerns promptly and preventing complications, leading to improved profitability for your business.
Cross-Selling Opportunities:
Additional services such as discounts packages and well-being counselling provide opportunities for cross-selling, generating additional revenue streams for your business.
How does the 24/7 Travel Doctor service work
Customers dial a dedicated telephone number, which is, answered 24/7 by a team of trained operators
An operator verifies the caller and books an appointment with a doctor on the 24/7 rota
The doctor calls the patient back at the agreed time and often within 15 minutes of the original call - service standards are monitored and achieved. This can be a telephone consultation (24/7) or a video consultation (reduced hours)
Cover is provided for all family members travelling together worldwide – including staycations (50+ miles from home) with no limit on the number of consultations within the cover period and no limit on the duration of a consultation. All calls are recorded providing accurate auditing
Commercial models
Built in
Our Service is priced into all of your policy types or your more premium policy types – we provide the service to you on a wholesale pricing basis and the service is paid for by the insurer within their travel insurance policy. You pay us for the service on a monthly basis. This is our lowest cost option. The insurer can of course opt to sell that cover at a premium over the actual cost of the service
Add on
Our service is made available to your customers, as a point of sale upsell option for all policy types for them to pay a single premium for covering their selected policy term / type – we provide our services here on a discounted retail pricing model which can be sold via your own e-commerce process or we can provide the sales fulfilment on our own secure platform and the value of the retail price is shared with you
Post Insurance coverage sale
Once the travel insurance term has expired, we are able to offer your customers access to a reduced retail price of our standard GP On Demand service which will provide them and their full family household with access to our services 24/7 including when in the UK and at home.
This creates a recurring revenue model for you as we will agree to rebate you 25% of the plan premium every monthly, ongoing until cancelled by the client. We provide the full end to end process here.
So for example:
- 300,000 users sign up for this optional post policy service

Definition of an Affinity Partnership
An affinity partnership, also known as an affinity marketing or affinity program, is a collaboration between two or more organizations that have complementary interests or customer bases. It involves the creation of a mutually beneficial relationship in which each partner benefits from the association.
In an affinity partnership, one organization provides exclusive offers, benefits, or discounts to the members or customers of another organization. These benefits are typically related to products, services, or experiences that are relevant to the shared interests of the customer base. The partnership is often facilitated through a formal agreement or contract.
Affinity partnerships can be found in various industries, such as finance, travel, insurance, and retail. For example, a credit card company might form an affinity partnership with a non-profit organisation, offering a co-branded credit card with special features and benefits for the organization’s members. In return, the credit card company gains access to a new customer base and increased brand exposure.
Increased customer loyalty:
Affinity partnerships can enhance customer loyalty for both organizations involved, as customers feel valued and receive exclusive benefits.
Expanded customer base:
Through the partnership, organizations can tap into each other's customer base, potentially reaching new markets and customers.
Brand enhancement:
Affinity partnerships can boost brand image and reputation, as customers associate the partner organization with positive experiences and benefits.
Revenue generation:
Affinity partnerships can lead to increased sales and revenue for both organizations, as customers are more likely to engage and make purchases due to the added incentives.
